Recent events have yet again exposed the total and profound lack of social responsibility of our press.
With the Leveson Inquiry into the culture and ethics of the press, growing concerns over the links between 'sexualisation' and violence against women and girls, and the subsequent Lib Dem Party vote to adopt a motion to end the projection of women as sex objects in newspapers, now is the perfect time to call on the Government to take a stand against the Page 3 phenomena.
TAKE ACTION NOW
1) Read the OBJECT / Turn Your Back on Page 3 submission to the Leveson Inquiry HERE
2) Email a copy of the submission to your MP and ask her/him to support the recommendations to tackle the Page 3 phenomennon in our press (please copy your correspondence and forward all replies to anna@object.org.uk)
